Owner & Attorney
Shannon Snedaker is a Florida trial attorney, Founder and Managing Partner of Snedaker Law, and the founder of The Trauma Attorney, a consulting and educational practice that helps attorneys and their clients navigate the effects of trauma throughout litigation.
For the entirety of her legal career, Shannon has focused on accident and injury law. Her passion is helping people through some of the most difficult periods of their lives, ensuring their experiences are heard, and pursuing justice on their behalf.
Early in her career, Shannon had the opportunity to represent several of the country’s largest insurance carriers. In that role, she gained valuable insight into how insurance companies investigate, evaluate, defend, and resolve injury claims. She represented carrier interests throughout Florida in complex matters involving catastrophic injuries, motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death, premises liability, product liability, and medical malpractice.
That experience now gives Shannon an important strategic advantage when advocating for injured individuals and their families. She understands how insurance companies approach claims, the arguments defense attorneys are likely to make, and the factors that can influence how a case is valued. Most importantly, she understands that behind every claim is a person whose life may have been permanently changed.
Shannon’s commitment to personal injury law is deeply personal. When she was young, her brother suffered a traumatic brain injury that left him with lifelong disabilities. Shannon witnessed firsthand how a catastrophic injury affects not only the injured individual, but also the entire family. The experience shaped her understanding of trauma, caregiving, loss, resilience, and the lasting emotional consequences of a life-altering event.
Today, Shannon represents individuals and families in cases involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, catastrophic injuries, medical negligence, and wrongful death. Her personal and professional experiences have shaped a client-centered approach rooted in empathy, preparation, and determined advocacy. She believes every client deserves to be heard, understood, and treated as a person—not simply as a case number.
This philosophy is reflected throughout Snedaker Law and its commitment to “Putting the PERSONAL in Personal Injury.” As Founder and Managing Partner, Shannon helps guide the firm’s strategic direction while fostering a culture built around service, collaboration, compassionate representation, and meaningful client relationships.

Through years of representing trauma survivors, Shannon recognized that traditional litigation and testimony preparation frequently fail to account for how trauma affects the brain and nervous system. Trauma can influence memory formation and recall, emotional regulation, communication, body language, and a person’s ability to remain present under pressure. These responses can be misunderstood during depositions, examinations, mediation, or trial and may unfairly affect how a client’s credibility is perceived.
To address this critical need, Shannon founded The Trauma Attorney, a consulting and educational practice dedicated to helping law firms incorporate trauma-informed principles into client preparation and litigation strategy.
Through The Trauma Attorney, Shannon consults with attorneys and law firms nationwide, particularly in cases where trauma may affect a client’s ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Her work includes trauma-informed deposition and testimony preparation, identifying potential triggers and communication barriers, helping clients develop grounding and emotional-regulation techniques, and collaborating with legal teams to ensure the client’s experience is presented accurately and with dignity.
Her approach is not about scripting testimony or changing a client’s story. It is about helping trauma survivors understand their responses, participate more confidently in the legal process, and communicate their truthful experiences with greater clarity. At the same time, Shannon helps attorneys recognize behaviors that may be rooted in trauma rather than evasiveness, inconsistency, or a lack of credibility.
Shannon is also a speaker and educator on trauma-informed litigation. She has presented to attorneys, law students, and legal organizations on the ways trauma can affect testimony, memory, credibility, client relationships, and case outcomes. Her educational work equips legal professionals with practical strategies for preparing and representing trauma survivors without retraumatizing them during the litigation process.
Shannon was instrumental in establishing the Seminole County chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, an organization dedicated to promoting gender equality and advancing women in the legal profession. She had the honor of serving as the chapter’s inaugural president and continues to support the organization and its mission.
In 2019, Shannon was appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to serve on the Judicial Nominating Commission for Florida’s 18th Judicial Circuit, which encompasses Seminole and Brevard counties. She served on the commission through 2024, assisting in the rigorous process of evaluating and recommending judicial candidates.
Shannon remains actively involved in Central Florida’s legal and civic communities. She supports organizations and initiatives focused on advancing women in law, mentoring emerging professionals, strengthening the local community, and improving the experiences of individuals and families navigating difficult circumstances.
The AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell is the organization’s highest peer-review rating for legal ability and professional ethics. Shannon’s 2026 recognition as one of Florida Trend’s Legal Elite NOTABLE Managing Partners further reflects her leadership of Snedaker Law, her commitment to client-centered representation, and her growing impact on the legal profession through trauma-informed advocacy and education.
Shannon grew up in Arcadia, California, before relocating to Florida to attend the University of Florida, where she earned her undergraduate degree. She later attended Barry University School of Law in Orlando and has called Central Florida home since 2003.
Shannon and her husband have a blended family of six children. Outside of her legal and consulting work, she values spending time with her family and supporting her children’s academic, athletic, and creative pursuits.
Whether she is representing an injured individual, helping a family navigate the aftermath of a catastrophic loss, preparing a trauma survivor to testify, or educating attorneys on trauma-informed practices, Shannon approaches her work with the same guiding principle: people deserve to feel heard, respected, prepared, and protected throughout the legal process.
