Traditional trial prep assumes your client has clear memories, stays calm under pressure, and responds rationally to questioning. Trauma survivors don’t work that way.
Their memories are fragmented. They shut down during aggressive questioning. Details change between tellings, not because they’re lying, but because trauma affects how the brain stores and recalls information.
Defense attorneys know this. They use it to destroy credibility.
Shannon’s trauma-informed coaching prepares clients differently. She helps them understand their responses, stay grounded during testimony, and communicate authentically without compromising credibility.
Shannon Snedaker spent years representing some of the largest insurance carriers in the country. Her trial experience gave her insight into how witnesses are discredited under duress and trauma while testifying.
She saw firsthand the impact of trauma when her brother suffered a catastrophic brain injury. Her compassion for helping others comes not only from work experience, but from deep-rooted family ties and love for her community.
After transitioning to plaintiff work, Shannon helped her own clients testify confidently regardless of trauma. Now she helps other law firms do the same for their clients. Everyone deserves to be heard and understood.
Shannon presents at legal conferences and CLE events nationwide, training attorneys on how trauma affects witness testimony and credibility. She’s been featured on Fox 35 Orlando, WFTV Channel 9 News, and Yahoo News.
Her work has earned recognition including Super Lawyers (2020-2025), Florida Trend’s Legal Elite (top 1% of Florida Bar members), and an appointment by Governor DeSantis to the 18th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission.
Shannon partners with attorneys on cases where trauma affects a client’s ability to testify effectively. She provides specialized coaching that prepares clients for depositions, cross-examination, and trial testimony without re-traumatization.
Her approach helps clients understand their own trauma responses, stay grounded under pressure, and communicate their truth in ways that maintain credibility with juries.
